  • I Look In Your Eyes

I look in your eyes, and I see the reflection
Of all that you see with your eyes.
I even see a two dimensional reflection of me.

Deeper, I peer past your convex lenses
And start to see you in a deeper light.
    The deeper light, though dimmer,
    Illuminates the three dimensional you.
The you that is body, soul, and spirit.

I want to celebrate your spirit
And enjoy the joy that you have.
I want to celebrate your soul
And share your values in life.
And I want to celebrate your body
    And share in its pleasures.

To peer into a person’s soul, through their eyes
Is to commune with that person.
And to commune is to celebrate.

All this I see and all this I want
By looking past the two dimensional
Reflection of me in your eyes.

  • @DysonianEyes - Wow.  I can’t believe I’m hearing from you.  I thought you had left Xanga.  Are you still posting?  If you are, I’m not getting any record of them in my Daily Subscription Log.

Thanks for the comment.  I will admit to being a Romantic.  Not that it does me any good as far as getting a girlfriend.  I feel like an anachronism – an oldster out of date with the current times.

  • Hey Curious…I am back ..not often but some..I really have no where else to write what I need to write but in here* Happy to see you are keeping your site going

Hope to write more..a touch of carpel tunnel so one day on and three off..alas..I used up my on line life in a way I suppose:) hugs Im sure you can find a g/f if you want too*

  • @DysonianEyes - Good to see you back.

Yes, I actually have several girlfriends.  The only problem is that they are all Platonic.

  • @DysonianEyes - I just got a memory refresh and re-viewed your photos.  I was surprised to see how many of your photos were fantastic pictures of eyes.  So you should feel right at home with this post – both the picture and the poem.  I’m glad I could accomodate to your interests.

  • nice. i have reflections like this too

  • The piece is full of admiration words.

You’re charming, sophisticated, and a very talented writer.

  • @godfatherofgreenbay - Thanks.  I’m glad you liked it.

  • @an_OM_aly - Thanks OM.  I’ve appreciated your reflections too.

  • @RestlessButterfly - And you, my dear lady, are a great flatterer.  Thanks.  (smile)

  • This is so clean in its desire and portrayal of emotions. You need to write more often.

  • @ZSA_MD - I’m still looking for that Muse which will inspire me to write more.

  • Such a beautiful combo of words and song!
I love the idea of communing…and celebrating someone’s soul, body, and spirit!
And the last sentence is so so SO touching.
    HUGS!

  • @AdamsWomanFell - I’m glad you liked this so much.  Thanks for your feedback.

  • Oh I love this song..Nights in White Satin..and your poem..mm..nice to listen to this with your night sky in an ocean of stars…Wonderful*

  • @DysonianEyes - I glad you like both the song and the poem and the “stellar” background.  It’s always good to hear from you.

  • I’m sure when you hook up with a girlfriend, it will have been worth the wait.

  • So much feeling in these words & the music just brings it all together.  I love the stellar background.  Adds a wonderful touch to the poem.   I’ve not heard this song in far too long.  Best wishes in finding the young woman that will bring this to fulfillment.  I think many of us have this dream in our hearts.

  • @MzSilver - what makes you think I’m looking for a young woman?

By the way, speaking of “old” and “young”.  I read your profile and your comment on age reminds me of what I have often said.  I may be 63, but I’m also 54, and I’m 48, and I’m 33, and I’m 25, and I’m 17, and I’m 8.  I am a composite of all the years in my past.  And those years are still a part of me – especially when I’m with others of that age.  I, like you, am very much into intergenerational friendships.

  • @curiousdwk -  When I said ‘young’ I was not thinking in the terms of age, because, as you’ve noted, I don’t look at age as being anything other than a number.   I am in total agreement with your comment.  Most days I feel much younger than my age.  But there are days when I feel older than dirt.   LOL   I think that’s one of the reasons I’m enjoying these hallways.  It is giving me a new perspective on the human persuasion.  We are each part & parcel of our past lives, but, no matter the age, we can always find a way to share, as well as to learn.  Life is good!

  • @MzSilver - Do you know what they say about the age of a woman?  A woman is only as old as the man that she feels.  (smile)

  • @curiousdwk -  I quite agree.  Which gives rise to this thought: Give a man a free hand and he’ll run it all over you.  (Mae West was a pistol)

  • Thank you for your honey-sweet words. They mean so much to me.

  • @soulcatcherquotes - I love seeing my subscription list that you have made another post.  They are special to me.  And I have to be honest and say that I love receiving your comments for both the context as well as your beautiful icon picture.  I don’t know if that is a picture of you or not, but I love it.  It is such a captivating picture I find myself having to look at it multiple times.
